Sisters for Abundant Living of Miami Lakes, Florida, is a nonprofit organization established for the purpose of supporting families and communities in the areas of education, health, and nutrition. We started with a volunteer tutoring program in 2005, working with children with learning difficulties. In 2008, we became a 501(c)(3) under the name Sisters for Abundant Living and also became a State Tutorial Provider. We have initiated a lot of first-time programs for the county, including D.I.V.A.S. which helps teen girls develop into confident women.
What sets us apart from similar organizations is our focus on combining academics, and specifically literacy, with healthy eating. Our goal is to show how a healthy body can truly support a healthy mind and strong academics.

Community Outreach, Education, and Awareness
Our desire is that every individual, regardless of socioeconomic status, receives the best possible quality of life. Through various annual events, we promote healthy living, distribute free meals during the holidays, and provide toys and school supplies to local youth. We also partner with the Hard Rock Cafè™, Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Borinquen Health Care Center, Florida Department of Health, and many other organizations to provide free health screenings and immunizations in underserved communities.
We are accepting financial donations to help us feed and academically support children during the summer while school is out. Donations will be used to fund the mobile units, offset the costs of delivering food and literacy activities to the children, purchase books and supplies, and to help us reach more children. You can donate through the website or mail it to our office. Donations are tax deductible.
See for yourself why helping others is a rewarding experience. We are always in need of volunteers to help out with meals in our kitchen or with children's activities. Contact us for more information.
